Improved Traffic Flow in Seremban
On the 29th of September, the new bypass connecting Wanmao to Seremban New Town officially opened. The first phase spans 3 kilometers and connects two residential areas that are over 30 years old. This new route benefits the working population in Seremban New Town, effectively easing congestion during peak hours.
The newly planned bypass was opened to traffic two months ago. It significantly reduces travel time during rush hours, bringing tangible improvements for commuters.
During a recent inspection of the new bypass, Wanmao Assemblyman Ye Yao Rong, accompanied by local council members, highlighted that this route is part of a comprehensive development plan by the developer. It adds a new traffic route to the existing community road system. This improvement not only enhances local traffic but also provides residents with more convenient travel options.
“The bypass has transformed the traffic flow between Seremban and Seremban New Town, clearly alleviating the long-standing congestion on Kayu Ara Road during peak hours,” he stated.
Benefits of the New Bypass
Before the new road opened, drivers traveling between Seremban and Seremban New Town had to navigate Kayu Ara Road and Wanmao Road daily. This route is a major local thoroughfare, and its narrow lanes often resulted in traffic jams lasting over half an hour during peak times. With the new road now operational, the distance has been shortened by about 2 kilometers, and traffic congestion has been effectively reduced.
Ye Yao Rong pointed out that the new bypass has entrances located at the Nada Embun housing area and the Taman Kelab Tuanku intersection. This route allows traffic to bypass Kayu Ara Road and Wanmao Road, facilitating smoother travel between Seremban and Seremban New Town.
Furthermore, the new bypass connects Seremban New Town, Wanmao New Village, Sri Wanmao, Taman Kelab Tuanku, and the Nada Embun housing area. With the opening of this new road, the previously single access point to Sri Wanmao Garden now has an alternative route that leads directly to Nada Embun, allowing easier access to Seremban New Town without having to detour through Wanmao.
Future Developments
The completed 3-kilometer bypass is just the first phase of the project. It significantly improves the traffic flow in Wanmao District, reducing reliance on the old single road. The developer plans to extend and expand more alternative routes over the next two years, providing residents with additional travel options during peak hours and further promoting regional development.
Ye Yao Rong emphasized that the future development plans for Wanmao District are crucial for transforming what many consider a “traditional old community.” With new property developments and road planning, the area is gradually evolving into a vibrant region that connects multiple newly planned towns.
“As these new infrastructures are implemented, they provide more direct access routes for communities with decades of history. The overall development potential of Wanmao District is becoming increasingly evident, and the future looks promising,” he added.
Important Traffic Guidelines
On another note, Ye Yao Rong reminded road users that the new entry points to the Nada Embun bypass are one-way streets. Drivers wishing to access Seremban New Town must continue straight for about 200 meters before turning at the designated intersection. They should not attempt to turn right at the junction, as this could create serious safety hazards.

“I have noticed that many drivers, unfamiliar with the road conditions or seeking convenience, have been making illegal right turns at the bypass exit. This not only violates traffic rules but also poses significant safety risks,” he cautioned.
Ye Yao Rong stressed that the purpose of road construction is to enhance traffic efficiency and convenience, not to create new risks. He hopes that while the public enjoys the benefits of the new road, they will also work together to maintain road safety, ensuring that these improvements yield long-term benefits.
The new bypass, constructed in line with the developer's overall development plan, officially opened two months ago. Since its opening, it has significantly shortened travel times during peak hours, leading to noticeable improvements in daily commutes.
During a recent inspection of the new road, Ye Yao Rong noted that this bypass is an essential addition to the existing community road system. It not only improves regional traffic flow but also provides residents with more diverse and convenient travel options.
He reiterated that the new bypass has already made a significant impact on the traffic flow between Seremban and Seremban New Town, especially alleviating the bottleneck on Kayu Ara Road during rush hours. Previously, drivers traveling between Seremban and Seremban New Town had to navigate Kayu Ara Road and Wanmao Road daily, often facing delays exceeding half an hour. Now, with the new road open, travel times have been reduced, and traffic has been dispersed more effectively.
Ye Yao Rong pointed out that the new bypass has entrances located at the Nada Embun housing area and the Taman Kelab Tuanku intersection. This route directly connects traffic between Seremban and Seremban New Town while bypassing Kayu Ara Road and Wanmao Road.
He added that the new road also connects Seremban New Town, Wanmao New Village, Sri Wanmao, Taman Kelab Tuanku, and the old residential area of Nada Embun Garden. With the new road now operational, the previously single access point to Sri Wanmao Garden now has an alternative route leading directly to Nada Embun, facilitating easier access to Seremban New Town without needing to detour through Wanmao.
The completed 3-kilometer road is just the first phase of the project, effectively improving the traffic network in Wanmao District and reducing reliance on a single route. The developer plans to extend and expand more alternative routes over the next two years, providing residents with more travel options during peak hours and further promoting regional development.
Ye Yao Rong emphasized that the future development plans for Wanmao District are critical for transforming what many residents view as a “traditional old community.” With new property developments and road planning, the area is gradually evolving into a vibrant region that connects multiple newly planned towns.
He stated that as these infrastructures are gradually implemented, they will provide more direct access routes for communities with decades of history. The overall development potential of Wanmao District is becoming increasingly evident, and the future looks promising.
On the other hand, Ye Yao Rong also reminded road users that the new entry points to the Nada Embun bypass are one-way streets. Drivers wishing to access Seremban New Town must continue straight for about 200 meters before turning at the designated intersection. They should not attempt to turn right at the junction, as this could create serious safety hazards.

He urged the public to enjoy the convenience brought by the new road while also adhering to traffic rules and enhancing road safety awareness. This way, the infrastructure improvements can yield long-term positive effects.
