There are two monsoon seasons:

• Northeast Monsoon (November to March): Brings heavier rainfall to the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo.

• Southwest Monsoon (May to September): Generally drier, with occasional short thunderstorms in the late afternoon.
